FOR DISTRICT IMPROVEMENTS

DEADLINE TO VOTE
WHY NOW?
Studies and surveys show quality schools greatly influence whether businesses invest in a community and whether people move there.
Growth means a larger tax base and potentially better property values for homeowners.
Now is a great time to reinvest in our schools without increasing the millage rate.
On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, voters in the Mancelona Public Schools District will be asked to consider a bond proposal that, if approved, would result in district-wide facility improvements at no expected mill-rate increase.
The proposal comes as a result of in-depth evaluations by district leaders, staff and community members to create a long-term strategic plan that identifies the current and future needs of district facilities.
Our main priorities are to give our students modern, collaborative learning environments, while enhancing safety and security without increasing the current millage rate.
IMPROVEMENT PLAN
If supported by voters, this expected millage-neutral bond would positively impact every student and school building, while also expanding programs and opportunities for our community. Here is a brief snapshot of would be included:
